Translation is the activity which consists in understanding the meaning of a text in a given language (source text or original text) in order to transfer it to a text with an equivalent meaning in another language (translated text or target text).
The translation process can be divided in three basic stages: understanding the original text, translating it, and proofreading the translated text.
For a translation to be professional and good quality, the translator does not only need to master both the source and the target languages and follow a correct translation process, but is also supposed to carry out a thorough subject preparation and terminology research.
